Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Asheville follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This place is where my Scrabble Club meets and we hold tournaments here in the gym, too. The central hall in the back contains photos and stories about the history of the building and the black community of Asheville. The staff are always great and there’s a great vibe.

We are in town for a family wedding and stopped by here. The staff were friendly and helpful. Two of us are beginners and the folks playing today were very accommodating and helpful!

Beautiful facility. I love what they've done to the place. So much heritage.

Nearly every Friday for the last few months I've taken my son to Tiny Tykes at Stephen's Lee from 10am-12pm. At 1 1/2, he runs in smiling and yelling because the first hour is playing with toys we do not have at home. Tiny kitchens with pots, pans, food, a random saw. Lots of trucks and cars. Always a craft that's seasonal (egg to decorate for Easter, green mini-cupcakes for St. Patricks Day). Puzzles. A bitty basketball hoop. A box of 800 crayons. A child's dream. At 11am they move upstairs where the basketball court is covered in little bikes, cars, slides, and unbelievably, a bounce house. Some older ones might prefer the second part but honestly even if you just pick one hour for your little one, it's well worth the $3. To whomever is in charge of this activity, thank you. The care you put into the programming is evident and I hope us trying to clean up the absolute chaos helps.
